The Venue
Located on Gresham Street in the City of London, Guildhall is a Grade I listed building with nearly 800 years of history and eleven versatile event spaces spanning three levels. Home to the City of London Corporation and still the centre of government in the City, it has hosted royal banquets, state occasions and some of the most prestigious corporate events in London.
The Great Hall is the centrepiece, seating up to 760 theatre style or 900 for a standing reception, and has been the setting for the Lord Mayor’s Banquet since 1502. The Old Library and Print Room together offer Victorian neo-Gothic grandeur for up to 550 guests. The East and West Crypts, dating back to 1042, are the largest surviving medieval crypts in London and accommodate up to 500. The Guildhall Art Gallery holds 330 for a reception, while the Roman Amphitheatre, discovered in 1988 and dating from AD 70, seats up to 100 for a dinner. Smaller spaces include the Livery Hall (300), Basinghall Suite (100) and Chief Commoner’s Parlour (24).
The venue holds a Green Meetings Gold Award for sustainability. Bank, St Paul’s and Moorgate underground stations are all within walking distance.
